Because Columbus enjoys warm summers, the residents of the city can enjoy outdoor recreational activities, which are facilitated by the more than 165 city parks within the city proper, several of which offer sports programs for all ages. The three lakes and two large rivers in the city make Columbus a good location for sailing, fishing, water skiing, and boating. There are a number of professional and college sports teams in Columbus for the city’s sports enthusiasts.
